Oil Leaders Sign HSE Commitment Policy

In clear demonstration of the Upper Management’s quest to elevate HSE performance and apply best HSE practices, system and applications that ensure optimum safe work environment, Mr. Saad Al-Shuwaib-the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Saad Al-Shuwaib issued directives to all Chairmen of KPC’s Subsidiary companies to distribute and disseminate “KPC’s Commitment Policy-Health, Safety & Environment” which was ratified and signed by the CEO and all heads of Subsidiaries.
By signing the policy, the Oil Sector leaders affirm their commitment to make a difference and ensure development.
To shed more light on the pioneering step, the E-Newsletter met Mr. Fadel Al-Ali who highlighted its key aspects.

Can you shed more light on the initiative; does it mean that there was no HSE policy prior to this document?
KPC’s first HSE policy dates back to the year 1999, and undoubtedly the Subsidiaries all have HSE policies. However, in the year 2003 KPC and its Subsidiaries have placed a new and unified world class HSE system using an international consulting company.
The system has 59 documents that include regulations, specifications and guidelines and it is considered the basic reference for all regulations, programs and activities performed by KPC.
The commitment policy is considered the first of its kind in the oil sector in terms of unanimity, comprehensiveness and quality.

How will the employees know more about the policy?
The Health & Safety Department at KPC has prepared leaflets and posters of the document that was signed by all Chairmen and the CEO has given directions to all Chairmen to distribute the document, moreover it has been placed on the KOG, Intranet and will be published in all KPC publications.
