The Petroleum Training Centre (PTC) conducts regular training and career development programs for Kuwait’s oil sector employees.
In 2001, in order to accommodate the ever-increasing number of trainees joining every year, as well as, to meet the wider trends of the national strategic training policies it was decided to expand the Centre. With the expansion of the Centre, which serves all the subsidiary oil companies, new horizons have opened for the Centre and its duty of catering to the present and future needs of the oil sector, in line with the corporation’s plans for development.
The new PTC building, located adjacent to the old one, was completed and fully equipped by the end of 2003 at a cost of around KD 2.220 million. It occupies an area of 5600 m² and is spread over two floors. The new building contains 29 training rooms, including 7 laboratories and computer rooms, shaded parking for 525 cars, 25 offices for employees, two cafeterias each containing 100 to 120 seats with all the associated services, a library with a room for research and studies, in addition to an amphitheater or conference room that can accommodate 110 persons. The Centre also prides itself on its latest training equipment, including those for hosting conferences via satellite. The Centre has facilities for offering interpretation services in four languages.
