Al-Khalid officially announces the strike end
The Oil Sector Spokesman, Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, announced that the oil sector strike has ended, and that work progress is back to normal rates.
He added that gradual return of normal production rates, an average of 3 million barrels per day, may take around three days, noting the it was necessary to hold off away from any pressures which might influence that safety of employees, facilities and oil installations.
He also commended the success of the emergency plan followed by the Kuwaiti oil sector, which aimed to ensure KPC's local and international commitments by supplying the local market with oil products with no disruption, feed power and water stations as well as fulfill the contractual commitments with KPC's clients abroad, maintaining the image and reputation of the State of Kuwait.
Al-Khalid also praised the orchestrated efforts during the strike period to manage the most important sector in the State, and the national economy mainstay, expressing the sector's appreciation to all workers, volunteers, retirees and bodies that supported the emergency plan procedures, and contributed to its success.
